This Cathedral renovation issue is striking at the heart and I did not expect it. This rush of emotions caused me to question the cause and I found, to my surprise, that I viewed the Cathedral as more than just a building. It is the reservoir of our religious beliefs, it is the holder of our memories, it is the reflection of our struggles, a hiding place from work and personal conflicts, the place where we say I love you in one sacrament and goodbye in another, it is part of who we are as Catholics.
